This content-rich week of events kicks off with the fifth annual Governor’s Summit on Innovative Education on June 7, featuring a keynote by Code.org CEO and co-founder Hadi Partovi. 

Monday’s Summit is free and open to the public with limited in-person seating available at the Bismarck Event Center, as well as a livestream broadcast. Governor Burgum will host the event and highlight the progress being made in North Dakota toward personalized learning, the role technology skills play in a global economy, and the opportunity to innovate amid the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Following the Governor’s Summit on Monday, educators are invited to attend the IgniteND conference being hosted on the campus of Bismarck State College June 8-11. IgniteND is a four-day series of workshops and speakers for educators June 8-11 with innovative curriculum focused on computer science and cybersecurity. IgniteND's featured speakers include 2019 Teacher of the Year Kayla Dornfeld and renowned author and professor Dr. Adolph Brown. Check out the featured option for middle and high school teachers. Educators earn continuing education credits and may be eligible for endorsements and/or computer science licensure.

Complete agenda and registration information is available online. Registration includes breakfast and lunch during the conference and dorm lodging (limited, available upon request). The $99 registration is waived for the first 300 registrants by entering the promo code “ThxDPI21” on the registration form. A $200 stipend is available to attendees who attend 15 hours of sessions. 15 hours of sessions would also qualify licensed staff to add the new Computer Science and Cybersecurity credential - Level 3 to their teaching license.
