The North Dakota Legislative Assembly appropriated funding for the North Dakota Department of Public Instruction (NDDPI) to continue to support professional development for North Dakota Advanced Placement (AP) instructors.

This is an opportunity to offer high-quality professional development for AP instructors to attend an AP Summer Institute (APSI). The NDDPI will reimburse selected instructors for their travel costs to attend a National Math + Science Institute (NMSI) sponsored training in their curricular area.

APSI Application Guidance

The North Dakota Legislative Assembly appropriated funding for the NDDPI to continue supporting professional development for Advanced Placement (AP) instructors in North Dakota, allowing AP instructors to attend an AP Summer Institute (APSI).

Application Due Date: May 13, 2023

Funding Periods:

  • Round 1: June 1 - June 30
  • Round 2: July 1 - August 15

Qualifying Content Area: To be eligible to attend an APSI in a qualifying content area, the course must be on the following list and be on the instructor’s teaching schedule with students enrolled for the 2022-2023 school year.

APSI Application and Reimbursement

Instructors must complete an APSI application and submit it to the Office of Academic Support or fax it to (701) 328-0203.

APSI applications are accepted and reviewed in the spring of each year while funds for the current biennium are still available.

Reimbursement:

Each instructor will be reimbursed on the actual cost of travel expenses not to exceed $2,500. Receipts are required. To receive reimbursement, please submit the Expense Claim for Non-department Employees form (SFN 9007) along with receipts showing actual expenses. New vendors (suppliers and individuals) looking to receive payment from the State should use the online supplier registration pages to apply for a vendor (supplier) number Vendor Registry, which is required. Expense claims are due by September 6, 2023.

Allowable Workshops-NMSI CRP

Those schools/instructors selected to participate in the NMSI CRP for the 2022-2023 school year must enroll through the NMSI site.

Location:  Dallas, Texas

Registration and Reimbursement Process:

  1. Instructor applies for APSI and receives approval from NDDPI via email.
  2. NMSI emails the registration process instructions to the instructor.
  3. Instructor enrolls on the NMSI site. (Instructor is responsible for making travel arrangements.)

Instructors in schools not participating in the NMSI CRP program can choose a CollegeBoard APSI.
