The North Dakota Department of Public Instruction (NDDPI) is accepting applications for eligible recipients that propose to provide summer enrichment camps with a focus on AI, cybersecurity, and/or STEM programming with the intent of increasing access and opportunities for evidence-based summer programming for North Dakota K-12 students.


Available Funding: NDDPI has $1,010,253 in funding available for this grant opportunity from the Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief Fund III (ESSER). All grant funding must be expended by September 30th, 2024.
 

Eligible Applicants:

  • community-based organizations
  • public and tribal schools/districts 
  • institutions of higher education
  • city or county government agencies
  • for-profit, non-profit organizations 
  • consortium of two or more such agencies or organizations

Requirements:

  • Eligible applicants must have a Unique Entity ID (UEI) through Sam.gov to receive federal funding.
  • Summer academic enrichment programming must be related to AI, cybersecurity, and/or STEM education and must be provided during 2024 summer months (May-September).
  • Applications must be submitted by 5:00 p.m. CDT on May 1, 2024. 

Application Review & Selection Notification: Applicants should use the scoring rubric (see grant guidance below) to assist in writing a proposal. A NDDPI review committee will use the rubric to evaluate and rate each proposal. NDDPI will notify all applicants by email no later than May 15, 2023.
