NDAA Testing Requirements:
- Students participating in the NDAA in grades 3–10, including grade 9, participate in both the fall and spring DLM assessment windows.
- Participation in these two windows fulfills North Dakota's interim assessment requirement, with the spring window also fulfilling the applicable summative assessment requirement.
- Students in grades K–2 are currently exempt from the interim assessment requirement because DLM assessments are not yet available for these grades.
- Students in grade 11 do not participate in DLM assessments.
NDAA refers to North Dakota Alternate Assessment for Students with Significant Cognitive Disabilities based on Alternate Achievement Standards. Last Update: May 18, 2026
