The NDDPI is seeking qualified individuals who will serve as content specialists from schools and school districts K-12 and institutions of higher education to review and revise the state’s current K-12 content standards in physical education.
The standards development committee will study the implementation effects of the 2015 approved North Dakota Physical Education Content Standards and draft any revisions to improve the structure and content of these standards. Once completed, any committee recommendations will be submitted for final approval by the state superintendent. If approved, the recommendations will result in adopting a new generation of academic standards that will guide local school districts in developing local curricula.
The content standards development process is anticipated to begin in October 2023 and includes approximately four separate meetings, concluding in the summer of 2024.
