The North Dakota Content Standards are reviewed every five to seven years. The review process begins with the selection of the standards for review. The review is conducted by a team of North Dakota educators who review the standards within the discipline, considering advances within that disciplinary area, national standards, and standards from states like North Dakota. The drafts of the revised standards are published and open to public comment, which the reviewers use to make further revisions. The drafts are also reviewed by a team of reviewers consisting of North Dakota stakeholders, including parents, businesspersons, and other members of the North Dakota community.

NDDPI Invites Public Feedback on the First Draft of the ND Health Content Standards
The North Dakota Department of Public Instruction (NDDPI) invites public feedback on the first draft of the North Dakota Health Content Standards.
These standards define the essential knowledge, and skills students are expected to acquire at each stage of their education. They serve as a guide for student learning outcomes, but do not prescribe specific teaching methods, curricula, or assessments.
Over the past two months, a committee of North Dakota educators has developed the initial draft. NDDPI encourages all interested stakeholders–including educators, parents, community members, and industry representatives–to review the draft and share their input through the survey link below.
The survey will close on January 21, 2026.
For more information about the standards review process, contact Davonne Eldredge, Assistant Director of Academic Support, at deldredge@nd.gov.
