Kirsten Baesler is the state superintendent of schools for the North Dakota Department of Public Instruction.
The Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) was signed into law on December 10, 2015. It reauthorizes the 1965 Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA), which was previously NCLB.
The school dashboard Insights provides an opportunity for schools to showcase and highlight strengths in their building while providing transparency to the public.
NDDPI is dedicated to facilitating learning recovery for all students whose learning was hampered by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Eighteen proposals were received, and an "Intent to Award" was posted on the State Procurement Office website on Aug. 22. The contract is expected to be awarded in early September. NDDPI will continue to share updates and keep districts informed as additional details become available.
