Career Description
This position supervises child welfare workers providing child protection services to children and families. Mountain Lakes Human Service Zone is seeking a Child Welfare Supervisor (36-36-6359) for the Child Protection Unit.As the Child Welfare Child Protection Supervisor, you will assign cases to the Child Protection team and provide ongoing case supervision. You will also be responsible in monitoring employee performance and compliance with policy, best practice, planning, arranging emergency interventions and ensuring children and families are provided services based on assessed need. This position will provide direct supervision to 4 Child Protection Workers/Family Service Specialists and provide general program administration.To succeed in this position, you should be highly organized, able to manage your time and priorities effectively and have demonstrated ability to communicate with all types of people. You will need to have a strong understanding of program policies and laws. You will also be comfortable working with all types of software and database applications, with a willingness to learn new technology programs and have an eye for detail.
Minimum Qualifications
To be considered for this position, you must hold a bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, sociology, counseling, human development, education, human services, child development, nursing and family science or criminal justice and three (3) years of professional work experiences as a foster care licensor, social worker, child protective service worker or professional case manager. You must have at least one (1) year lead work or supervisory experience.
