Career Description
Generally, the Case Manager:You will be assigned reports of child abuse/neglect for assessment. You will also be responsible to adhere with policy, best practice and planning and arranging emergency interventions, provide general program administration. This position will gather necessary facts and complete written documentation. Maintain responsibilities of a highly complex and sensitive nature and require a high degree of knowledge, skills, and passion in child welfare. Coordinates with local service providers, law enforcement and legal entities, as well as emergency response planning. Perform case management activities involving complex problems/cases, assesses individual and family needs, develops appropriate service and/or treatment plans, and provides counseling, referral, and placement services. Evaluates client's needs, interests, motivation, and patterns of responsibility; reviews case records for client problems and needs, and reviews and discusses the case, problems, prognosis, behavior patterns, and needed services with a supervisor or senior level staff.Develops, implements, maintains, and supports treatment plans that provide a variety of social services and referrals to meet social, behavioral, medical, and/or psychological needs. Recommends and refers clients to appropriate support agencies and programs and provides continuous counseling and crisis intervention to achieve treatment plan objectives.Prepares and compiles case records, reports, and documents within state and federal standards in providing case notes, treatment plans, and evaluations. Testifies in court as needed by providing expert testimony and preparing comprehensive reports that allow the court to make findings and recommendations that affect court-ordered treatment plans. Represents the department in accordance with all policies and county rules and regulations.Performs a variety of other related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
FAMILY SERVICES SPECIALIST III:Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, sociology, counseling, human development, education, human services, child development and family science, or criminal justice.2 years of professional work experience as a social worker, child protective service worker or professional case managerA master's degree may substitute for one year of the work experience requirement.IN NO QUALIFIED FAMILY SERVICES SPECIALIST III APPLICANTS ARE FOUND, WE WILL CONSIDER FILLING THIS POSITION AS A FAMILY SERVICE SPECIALIST II:Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, sociology, counseling, human development, education, human services, child development and family science, or criminal justice.1 year of professional work experience as a social worker, child protective service worker, or professional case manager.A master's degree may substitute for the work experience requirement.IN NO QUALIFIED FAMILY SERVICES SPECIALIST II APPLICANTS ARE FOUND, WE WILL CONSIDER FILLING THIS POSITION AS A FAMILY SERVICE SPECIALIST I:Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, sociology, counseling, human development, education, human services, child development and family science, or criminal justice. ALL POSITIONS REQUIRE:Ability to work nontraditional work hours.Ability to visit person in their own homes.Some transportation of clients; a valid driver's license, proof of capability to transport clients, and adequate vehicle insurance.Agency vehicles are available for visits however, the employee will need to use personal transportation at times.MUST be able to pass a standard background, motor vehicle, and criminal record check.Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
