Opportunities for Support

BRIDGE Open Office Hours: North Dakota Department of Public Instruction (NDDPI) and project partners are now holding general Office Hours on a weekly basis. Our next session is scheduled for next Wednesday, June 24, 12–1 p.m. CDT.

Data Migration Validation / Support Sessions: Project team members from NDDPI, Aurora Educational Technology (our data migration vendor), EduTech, and Regional Education Agencies (REAs) will be available on a weekly basis to assist districts with specific data questions & support. Our next sessions are scheduled for next week:

**NEW** SSO & User Authentication Support Sessions: As part of the transition to Infinite Campus, districts will be required to use a Single Sign-On (SSO) provider so staff & students can securely access the Infinite Campus student information system (SIS). This change only affects how users sign in to Infinite Campus and EdPortal, it will not change how staff and students log into their computers, content delivery systems, other classroom tools, or any other systems used in daily operations.

These support sessions are available to provide district-specific guidance and help you through the setup steps in Infinite Campus. Please join us and bring your questions!

Cutover Plans + Upcoming Key Dates

BRIDGE Cutover Plans + Upcoming Key Dates

June 26Final Backup of Documents Stored in PowerSchool:

At 5 p.m. CDT on June 26, 2026, North Dakota Information Technology (NDIT) will perform a final backup of all documents stored in PowerSchool that reside on NDIT PowerSchool servers. No further documents should be stored in PowerSchool after this date.

June 30 – PowerSchool Deprecated Statewide:

To remain compliant with the licensing agreements in place with our software vendors, NDIT will be decommissioning PowerSchool statewide on June 30, 2026, at noon CDT. At that time, we will create a final backup of district PowerSchool databases and will start the process of making these databases available to districts.

The BRIDGE Team and NDIT are working on a more detailed timeline, solution, and instructions for accessing district databases. This information will be communicated to districts once we finalize the data access plan and solution.

Districts are strongly encouraged to proactively document their current customizations. After June 30, districts will no longer have access to PowerSchool to reference how custom screens, fields, or reports were structured—even though the data itself will still be accessible. To ensure these items can be accurately rebuilt in Infinite Campus if needed, districts should take screenshots or otherwise inventory existing custom screens (including the fields displayed) and commonly used custom reports such as attendance letters, mailing labels, report cards, etc. Capturing this information now will provide a critical reference point and help reduce rework later.

July 1 – TieNet Transitions to “Read‑Only” Access for All Users:

The NDDPI Office of Specially Designed Services will be converting all active TieNet users to “read-only” permissions.

July 3 – Initial PowerSchool Data Conversion Complete:

PowerSchool structured data identified for migration is migrated to Infinite Campus production sites. This does not include unstructured data (files/docs) previously stored in PowerSchool. Additional information on a timeline for the migration of PowerSchool documents will be made available when possible.

July 6–10 – STARS Student ID (SSID) Assigner Deprecated:

The NDDPI Information Technology & Data Services (ITDS) team will be shutting down the current ID Assigner solution in STARS in preparation for Infinite Campus assigning SSID’s moving forward. NDDPI will also be providing Infinite Campus with a final list of all previous & current IDs already assigned to prevent duplicated IDs being assigned going forward.

July 9 – Final TieNet Data Provided to Infinite Campus for Conversion:

Upon receiving the final database backup data from TieNet, the NDDPI ITDS team will provide the cleansed data to Infinite Campus for conversion to Infinite Campus production sites. It is anticipated that Special Education data & documents will begin being available to districts on July 16, with the process fully completed by August 11.

Once a student and their (Individual Education Program) IEP exists in the district Infinite Campus environment, SPED staff can begin managing their IEP data there. IEPs for students not yet in Infinite Campus will need to be tracked manually until July 20. More detailed information has been distributed directly to Special Ed Directors about how to manage student IEP data during this transitional period.

July 17 – Final PowerSchool Data Conversion Complete:

Infinite Campus will perform one final post-production data conversion for the following data points:

  • Federal Programs (Free & Reduced Eligibility, Gifted, Homeless & Homeless Services, Migrant, Title Funded Programs)
  • State Programs (Limited English & Proficiency & LEP Services, Section 504, Military Connections, 21st CCLC, Alt Education, District Residency, Special Populations-CTE/Pregnant & Parenting)
  • Transcripts
  • Graduation Data Update
  • Special Education Summary
  • Special Education Plans
  • Special Education Evaluations Data
  • Behavior

Because these fields will not be updated if other data is present, Infinite Campus recommends against adjusting this data before the finalization of your district’s Post-Production Conversion. Please reach out to your Infinite Campus Implementation Team with any questions.

*Note: This does not include unstructured data (files/docs) previously stored in PowerSchool. Additional information on a timeline for the migration of PowerSchool documents will be made available when possible.

July 20 – Infinite Campus District Edition to State Edition Sync Go-Live:

Due to districts still receiving their production sites and to ensure migrated data is as accurate and comprehensive as possible, District to State syncing will not go live until this date. As a reminder, there are some activities districts cannot perform between receiving your IC production site and July 20, including new student enrollments (Students that were not migrated from PowerSchool). A full list of activities to avoid before July 20 can be viewed here: ND Pre-Data Sync Functionality. Starting July 20, new SSID’s will be assigned by Infinite Campus with the same 10-digit format previously used.

August 11 – TieNet Data Conversion Complete:

It is anticipated that Special Education data & documents will begin being available to districts in their Infinite Campus Production site on July 16 with the process fully completed by August 11.

Immunization Exemption Tracking

North Dakota Immunization Information System (NDIIS) will continue to serve as the official source of truth for student immunization records and exemption tracking. While Infinite Campus includes fields that allow districts to record immunization exemption data, it is important to note that entering this information in Infinite Campus does not automatically update or sync with NDIIS. Districts may choose to track exemption data within Infinite Campus for local use; however, they should be aware that data does not flow between the two systems and must be managed separately to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Although a direct integration between NDIIS and Infinite Campus will not be available at go-live (Summer 2026), integration options will continue to be explored to streamline this process even further in the future.

Data Validation in Production Sites

As districts go through data validation activities in their production sites, it is important to remember that data should be end dated, NOT deleted. If there are questions about what can be deleted, please bring this to your implementation team.

Specific Items that should NOT be deleted:

  • ‘Generic Behavior Person’
  • State Flags (BIA, Migrant, Day Events, Calendars)

Q & A

Q: We do not use standards-based grading in our school - we only need to import for Special Education function I believe. I went to import and there are 15+ standards listed for North Dakota. Do I need to import them all or just certain ones?

A: All current standards should be imported.

Q: Regarding homeschool students, in PowerSchool we had their entry code as resident (1) and then in their FTE we had them coded as homeschool. However, in Infinite Campus that is no longer an option. Should we be setting them as residents under the "Local Start Status" or should they be coded as NonEnr - Home Based?

A: Homeschooled student should be loaded as ‘NonEnr - Home Based’. NDDPI is working with using the FTE count to indicate courses attempted (vs the current method of doing a course enrollment).
