Governor Burgum has issued a number of executive orders since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020. These orders waived provisions of state law in cases where pandemic conditions made it difficult, if not impossible, to comply with them. The Department of Public Instruction also made several requests to waive federal regulations to make it possible to provide services more broadly and efficiently.
