Vinterfest

Vinterfest is a month-long celebration of winter, here on the Northern Plains. The festival seeks to promote educational, recreational, and cultural heritage programming throughout central North Dakota for the publics enjoyment. From artisan workshops to cross-country skiing, Vinterfest invites you to learn new hobbies and share in time-honored traditions. 

Holiday Open House at Former Governors Mansion

The Former Governors Mansion State Historic Site in Bismarck will host its free annual Holiday Open House Sunday, Dec. 14, from 1 to 4 p.m.

Visit with Santa, make a Christmas craft, enjoy refreshments, and take a self-guided tour of the mansion, which will be decorated for the holiday season. Cookies and hot cider will be served. All ages are welcome. This year's free, family-friendly event is part of the ND250 commemoration celebrating our country's 250th birthday.

Alexander Hamilton

Acclaimed historical interpreter William G. Chrystal will present as Alexander Hamilton offering an engaging exploration of Hamilton’s ideas, legacy, and enduring influence on the American experiment. The performance will be livestreamed at no cost. Communities statewide are encouraged to host viewing gatherings or participate from home, ensuring broad public access to the performance.

Sharing the Spirit of America

Every year, during the weeks leading up to July 4th, Dickinson comes alive with thrilling rodeo events, a crash-tastic demolition derby, live music, a fun-filled carnival, and more, all taking place at the Stark County Fairgrounds. And that's not all! The excitement continues all over the Dickinson area with the fan-favorite Roughrider Days Parade, spectacular fireworks, and many other community events!
