Hiring Range - $5,416 - $6,250Location is Bismarck (central office) with working remotely from any North Dakota location. In-state travel is required.It is the mission of Commerce to lead North Dakota's efforts to attract, retain and expand wealth and talent. The Community Development Administrator of the North Dakota Office of Community Development and Rural Prosperity (CDRP) will work closely with the Division of Community Services Director and all of Commerce to develop community and rural development, growth, and opportunities to create vibrant, growth focused and well-planned communities across the state. You will coordinate with state and federal agencies, communities, counties, nonprofits, and external partners to support economic and community development across the state and bring North Dakota's rural perspective and opportunity to the forefront of state policy and development. You will contribute to North Dakota's economic development by providing direct assistance to communities and nonprimary sector businesses interested in expanding or locating in North Dakota. You will collaborate with the Economic Development and Finance (ED&F) Division at Commerce to support community needs for primary sector business expansion and relocation. Ultimately, the results of your work will be communities which are prepared for new and expanded businesses, welcoming workforce, and generating economic wealth for North Dakota. You will need to gain an understanding of community planning, workforce development, and all areas of community and economic development. You will lead the CDRP team and coordinate with division liaisons on projects, timelines, and goals, and will lead special initiatives and directives from both Commerce and the Governor of ND regarding community and rural development. You are expected to work closely with local, regional, and state agency partners, as well as private industry and education. This role requires adaptability, collaboration, creative thinking, decision-making, time management, project-specific budget oversight, and strong oral and written communication skills, in addition to the ability to manage multiple projects at once in a variety of focus areas. Travel is required, mostly in-state.Minimum Qualifications:Education - Minimum of bachelor's degree. Experience - Minimum of five years of similar or related experience required and two years of leadership experience.Ability to travel (10-30% statewide).
