The North Dakota Highway Patrol and the Dickey County Sheriff's Department conducted a DUI checkpoint in Dickey County on Friday, July 13. 

The North Dakota Highway Patrol (NDHP) conducted a DUI checkpoint and alcohol saturation patrol on Saturday, July 7, at Saw Mill Corner in Bottineau County.

Now that summer is in full swing, many young people will be traveling around on off-highway vehicles (OHVs).  For the purposes of this article, OHVs will be considered dirt bikes, all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) or side-by-sides. I’m addressing frequent questions about requirements for youth to operate an OHV.

To kick off the 2018 Click It or Ticket seat belt initiative, the North Dakota Highway Patrol (NDHP) will be participating in Operation Border to Border (B2B), a 1-day national seat belt awareness kickoff event spearheaded by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

All AMBER Alert components will be tested. Advance notification is provided to avoid misinterpretation of this test as an actual AMBER Alert.

Anhydrous ammonia is classified as a hazardous material, although few problems occur when it is properly handled, transported, and applied.

The ND Highway Patrol (NDHP) will be conducting a “Trooper on a Train” enforcement detail from Mandan to Dickinson on Wednesday, April 25.

The 2018 spring road restrictions on state highways are or will soon be in effect. The North Dakota Department of Transportation (NDDOT) utilizes load restrictions to reduce damage to the roadways caused by heavy loads in spring when highway pavements are most vulnerable.

A team of assessors from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA ^®) will arrive in Bismarck on April 2, 2018, to examine all aspects of the North Dakota Highway Patrol’s policies and procedures, management, operations, and support services.
