Spend the afternoon discovering the art of rug making.

The Welk Homestead State Historic Site illustrates the history of agriculture in the early 20th century, German Russian culture and architecture, and the career of bandleader Lawrence Welk, who grew up on the farm.

Sunday, July 19, Cross Stitching, 1-3 p.m. Spend the afternoon creating a cross-stitch design.

While at the site, take a selfie with the new Lawrence Welk statue.

Blacksmith Demonstration

Blacksmith Demonstration, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Bob McCay and Rick Wengel will share their knowledge of blacksmithing and use of the coal forge.

Indigenous Game of Snow Snake

Learn about and play the Indigenous game of snow snake Saturday, Feb. 21, from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Pembina State Museum. Similar to ice gliders, the game features a snake carved from a long wooden pole or stick that is thrown across icy ground to see whose travels the farthest. The event is for those ages 6 and older. Children must be accompanied by an adult.  Museum staff have several snow snakes and a track prepared for the event.
