The North Dakota Department of Commerce and North Dakota Housing Finance Agency will host three Consolidated Plan focus groups – Public Services, Homelessness and Affordable Housing – and a Fair Housing Forum on Feb. 24. The focus groups will take place in classroom A at the Heritage Center, 612 E. Boulevard Ave., Bismarck.
The purpose of focus groups is to gather information on North Dakota’s community needs. The public is asked to provide feedback on the state’s fair housing successes and impediments during the forum. The information gathered will be used to draft the state’s analysis to Fair Housing Choice, a subsection of the Five-Year Consolidated Plan.

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development mandates that states assemble and submit a Five-Year Consolidated Plan to be eligible to receiving funding for the Community Development Block Grant, HOME, Housing Trust Fund and Emergency Solutions Grant programs. The North Dakota Department of Commerce and the North Dakota Housing Finance Agency administer these federal programs on behalf of the state of North Dakota.
