 NDHP Colonel Brandon Solberg announces the promotion and reassignment of Captain Aaron Hummel, Captain Thomas Iverson, Lieutenant Jody Skogen, and Trooper Jeremy Rost.

 

    MajorAaronHummel.jpgCapt. Hummel has been promoted to the rank of major and will serve as the chief of staff overseeing administrative services, finance, and support services. Hummel began his career with the NDHP in 1999. After graduating from the academy, he was stationed as a trooper in Grafton and Grand Forks.  Hummel was promoted to sergeant in 2007, lieutenant in 2011 and captain in 2013.  Hummel graduated from North Dakota State University with a bachelor’s degree in sociology.  He is also a 2009 graduate of the Northwestern University Traffic Institute School of Police Staff and Command.

 

Major Tom Iverson.jpgCapt. Iverson has been promoted to the rank of major and is the chief of operations overseeing field operations. Iverson began his career with the NDHP in 2004. After graduating from the academy, he served as a traffic trooper in Bismarck. He was promoted to sergeant in 2010, lieutenant in 2012, and captain in 2017. Iverson earned a bachelor’s degree from Jamestown College and a Masters in Management degree from the University of Mary. He is a 2016 graduate of Northwestern University Traffic Institute School of Police Staff and Command.

Skogen has been promoted to the rank of captain and serves as the administrative services commander overseeing training, safety and education, dignitary protection, capitol security, and human resources. Skogen began his career with the NDHP in1995 and attended the highway patrol academy. After graduating, he was a traffic trooper in Harvey. He was promoted to sergeant in 2005 and lieutenant in 2009. Skogen most recently served as the Motor Carrier Operations Lieutenant. Skogen is a graduate of Northwestern University Traffic Institute’s School of Police Staff and Command and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Minot State University.

 

SgtJeremyRost.jpgTrooper Jeremy Rost was promoted to the rank of Sergeant and was reassigned to Motor Carrier Operations.  Rost earned a Bachelor of Liberal Arts degree in Communications and Public Relations from the University of North Dakota.  He is a 2002 graduate of the highway patrol academy and was stationed in Steele following graduation. In 2004 he was transferred to Bismarck, where he most recently served.
