An annual overlength permit can be purchased in lieu of a single trip permit when a vehicle/load exceeds the legal length limit of 50’ for a straight truck, 53’ trailer and/or 53’ for trailer including overhang. All other dimensions (width and height) must be legal. All axle weights, bridge lengths and gross vehicle weight must be legal. Axle/gross vehicle weight cannot exceed weight limits imposed on highways during spring thaw or when travel is on a highway with load limits year round.
The overlength permit can be issued up to 120’ long.
The overlength vehicle or load must be non-reducible unless the overall length of the load is 60’ or less.
The permit is valid for a calendar year. The fee for the annual overlength permit is $150. (Effective 8-1-2017)
