Ryder, established in 1906, will celebrate 120 years of community, history and pride Friday, June 19,-Saturday, June 20. The 100th anniversary of the bandstand in the city park also will be observed.
Numerous activities are planned during the two-day celebration.
The schedule of events includes:
Friday, June 19
4 p.m. - Welcome & class reunions, Community Center.
5-7 p.m. - Catered dinner, Community Center. Tickets available at the door. RSVP to ryderturns120@gmail.com to assist planner.
7 p.m. - Memories of Ryder, Community Center.
9 p.m.-midnight - DJ & karaoke street party, Main Street.
Saturday, June 20
Noon - Vendors in the park, city park.
Noon - Tuba Four Brass Quartet, city park bandstand.
1 p.m. - Veterans’ wall tribute and 100 Years Bandstand Celebration, city park. Bring your own lawn chair.
2 p.m. - Kids’ activities including bounce houses and scavenger hunt, Main Street.
2 p.m. - Bakken Bombers Cornhole Tournament, Main Street.
2-5 p.m. - Car and bike show, Main Street.
4 p.m. - Kids’ pedal tractor pull, Main Street.
5-6 p.m.- Live music by Daniel Starks, Main Street.
6 p. m. - The Saturday Drawing, bank steps on Main Street.
8:30 p.m. - Street dance with Missing Lynx, Main Street.
The Ryder Historical Museums will be open daily. Food trucks will be available.
