The community is invited to gather for a special flag-raising ceremony at the Burleigh County Courthouse. This effort is designed to honor the generations of Americans who have served and sacrificed in defense of our nation while celebrating 250 years of freedom and opportunity.

Flag Sojourn 250, an America250 initiative, is taking a single American flag to every U.S. state, every U.S. territory, and every U.S. military cemetery overseas. The journey wraps up as it touches the states of the 13 original colonies—and concludes in Washington, DC. Key programming partners for this traveling campaign of unity include the National Flag Foundation, the American Battle Monuments Commission, and the National Sheriffs’ Association.
