Public invited to submit ornaments for annual Capitol tree lighting event in December

The Office of the First Lady invites artists and craftspeople to provide handmade ornaments for the North Dakota State Christmas Tree. The tree will be on display in Memorial Hall at the Capitol. Gov. Doug Burgum and First Lady Kathryn Burgum will participate in the public tree lighting ceremony at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 5.

Secretarial disaster designation requested for 47 of 53 ND counties as crop losses continue to mount

Gov. Doug Burgum, working in cooperation with state Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring, North Dakota’s congressional delegation, the federal Farm Service Agency and agencies across state government, sent a letter today to U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue requesting a secretarial disaster designation to make federal assistance available to agricultural producers struggling with extremely wet harvest conditions.
