Gov. Doug Burgum today delivered his 2020 State of the State address, calling for more action to address the state’s workforce shortage, highlighting recent progress on diversifying the economy and making North Dakota a more military-friendly state, and outlining a plan for Legacy Fund earnings that includes investing in property tax relief, infrastructure and transformational projects.

Commerce launches North Dakota film and Instagram partnership

The North Dakota Department of Commerce has launched the North Dakota Film and Instagram Partnership Program to increase awareness of North Dakota through creative and authentic storytelling.     

 This inaugural, competitive-pitched grant will allow storytellers to share their visions for showcasing North Dakota’s healthy and vibrant communities. There are two categories: Short Film and Instagram. Applications will be accepted through March 13, 2020. 


The North Dakota Department of Commerce reminds organizations of upcoming deadline for AmeriCorps Grant funds

President Donald Trump has approved Gov. Doug Burgum’s request for a presidential major disaster declaration for the impacts of an October storm that dumped heavy rain and snow on a large swath of North Dakota and caused up to $9.7 million in damage to public infrastructure, according to preliminary assessments.
