State Auditor Names Morton County as Recipient of Stewardship Award

The State Auditor’s Office has named Morton County as the recipient of its Stewardship Award. This award celebrates excellence in auditing and is given to entities the State Auditor’s Office has worked with conducting audits. Morton County is located in the southwest quarter of North Dakota and has a population of over 33,000 people.

“The audit team at Morton County has always been incredibly responsive, and they work quickly to implement action if areas of improvement are noted,” said State Auditor Joshua Gallion. “We appreciate the responsiveness and commitment they have towards serving the taxpayers of North Dakota.

Criteria for the Stewardship Award includes no significant deficiencies that are identified, no ethical or financial concerns, and a strong commitment to serving the taxpayers of North Dakota. This is the fourth Stewardship Award presented since the inception of the award in December of 2020.
