State Auditor Joshua Gallion today released an audit of the Office of Management and Budget that found the agency is not properly following the alternate procurement process. This could lead to purchases being made that are not fair and in the best interest of the taxpayers of North Dakota.
Our team found areas of concern around the “Notice of Intent” letter and missing or incorrect information left on the alternate procurement request forms.
"Proper controls are essential to safeguarding taxpayer dollars used to make these purchases,” Auditor Gallion said. “It’s important that the Office of Management and Budget implement the recommendation in the audit to ensure those safeguards are in place.”
This audit is a result of the State Auditor’s Office statutory responsibility to audit or review each state agency once every two years. The complete audit report can be found on our website, https://bit.ly/OMB19Audit.
