State Auditor Joshua Gallion today released an audit of the Dakota College at Bottineau which shows from July 2017 through June 2018, the college was not consistent in performing annual and student evaluations for faculty.

"Evaluations provide information on a teacher’s effectiveness,” Auditor Gallion said. “Not having a regular system to receive feedback lessens the teacher’s opportunity for professional growth."

The audit also found that the college was not keeping enough documentation for team meals and student tuition waivers, requiring unnecessary paperwork for credit card transactions and not following proper procurement procedures.

This audit is a result of the State Auditor’s Office statutory responsibility to audit or review each state agency once every two years. The complete audit report can be found on our website, http://bit.ly/DCBottineau18.
