With warmer weather ahead, the North Dakota Department of Transportation (NDDOT) reminds the motor carrier industry that seasonal load restrictions may be placed on North Dakota state highways as soon as the week of March 10th.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol’s Automated Permit and Routing System is a solution that assesses roadway restrictions in real-time and calculates safe routes automatically. Permits not subject to approval are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Fees are automatically calculated. Notifications of changing conditions, are sent to drivers with single trip permits, thus saving valuable travel time, and enhancing trip safety.
The four-hour session provides a comprehensive overview of the ND’s oversize and overweight permitting and routing process. It includes a review of the allowable axle weights, frost laws, and a walk through of the online permitting and routing system.
