Burgum Announces 2018 Main Street ND Summit

Governor Burgum announced the 2018 Main Street Initiative Summit will be held February 12-13, 2018, in Bismarck, bringing together local and national community development experts and advocates to share best practices and engage community leaders, entrepreneurs, students and interested citizens in envisioning North Dakota's future.

State of the State Address

Governor Burgum will present the State of the State Address Tuesday, January 23 at 10:00 a.m. at Minot State University. The governor will highlight the state's challenges and successes from the past year and outline his vision and agenda for the future.

Parks and Recreation Department

Wild Outdoor Women Weekend Registration is Open

The Wild Outdoor Women (WOW) weekend registration is open for all females who wish to learn or improve on skills associated with outdoor recreational activities. This event will be held February 23rd-25th at Lake Metigoshe State Park. Deadline to register is January 22nd.

Department of Health

January Named Birth Defects Prevention Month

The North Dakota Department of Health (NDDoH) is joining the National Birth Defects Prevention Network (NBDPN), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, American Academy of Pediatrics, March of Dimes, Teratology Society, and Mother to Baby to increase awareness on how to prevent birth defects. During National Birth Defects Prevention Month, a special emphasis is placed on the importance of preventing infections before and during pregnancy that can increase the risk of having a baby with a birth defect.
