Gov. Dalrymple Issues 2017-2019 Budget Guidelines

Gov. Jack Dalrymple issued to state government agencies his budget guidelines for the 2017-2019 biennium. Gov. Dalrymple directed agency leaders to develop General Fund base budgets equal to 90 percent of their 2015-2017 appropriation for ongoing expenditures as passed by the Legislature.

Governor's Photo Contest

Gov. Jack Dalrymple and the North Dakota Tourism Division, in partnership with AAA of North Dakota and North Dakota Council on the Arts, are kicking off the Governor's Photo Contest. All North Dakota photographers are encouraged to submit photos that capture the unique things to see and do in the state. Deadline for entry is August 31, 2016.

There's free admission into all ND state parks on Memorial Day, May 30, for past and present military personnel.

State Park Passes for Check-out

The North Dakota State Library, in partnership with the North Dakota Parks and Recreation Department, is proud to announce that all public libraries will be given State Park Passes to add to their collections for check-out. Nominations Sought for Local History Awards

The State Historical Society of North Dakota (SHSND) is seeking nominations for the annual awards program recognizing outstanding achievement in three categories of history: Excellence in Local History, Heritage Profile Honor, and North Dakota Person of History.

Deer Application deadline

Deer gun and muzzleloader hunters are reminded that Deer Hunting License lottery applications are due June 1, 2016.

Free Fishing Days

This year's Free Fishing Days occur on June 4 and 5. For these two days, the public can fish without purchasing a license. To learn more about fishing in North Dakota, visit the Game and Fish Department website.
