Drought Information

Hauling Permit Fees Waived, Regulations Relaxed

Governor Burgum signed an executive order waiving fees for drivers of commercial vehicles hauling hay, water and livestock supplies in drought-affected counties of North Dakota. The executive order also permits the hauling of hay at night if loads are within a certain size and marked with proper lighting.

Governor Doug Burgum and First Lady Kathryn Helgaas Burgum are inviting the general public, behavioral health providers, business and community leaders, and more to save the date for Recovery Reinvented on Sept. 26, 2017, in Bismarck.

State, Tribe Collaborate on Elk Season

Governor Burgum and Standing Rock Sioux Chairman Dave Archambault II have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that directs state and tribal authorities on regulating an elk hunting season within the Standing Rock Reservation.

Governor's Photo Contest

Governor Doug Burgum and the North Dakota Tourism Division, in partnership with AAA of North Dakota and North Dakota Council on the Arts, are hosting the Governor's Photo Contest. All North Dakota photographers are encouraged to submit photos that capture the unique things to see and do in the state. Deadline for entry is August 31, 2017.
