ND Highway Patrol Superintendent Retiring

Governor Doug Burgum today expressed his deep gratitude to Col. Michael Gerhart Jr. for his outstanding leadership and long history of service as the North Dakota Highway Patrol superintendent announced his retirement.

New 100-gigabit Network Puts ND on Leading Edge

Governor Doug Burgum, State Superintendent Kristen Baesler, Chief Information Officer Shawn Riley and other officials announced a 100-gigabit upgrade to the state network that will put North Dakota schools and government on the nation's leading edge of internet connectivity and speed.

Game and Fish Department

Moose, Elk, and Bighorn Sheep Licenses

North Dakota's elk, moose and bighorn sheep applications are available online at the State Game and Fish Department's website. The deadline for applying is March 28.

New Licenses Needed April 1st

Anglers, trappers, and hunters are required to have new licenses for the 2018-19 season beginning April 1st, 2018. The 2018-19 small game, fishing and fur-bearer licenses are effective April 1, 2018 to March 31, 2019 and can be purchased online at ND Game and Fish Department.

Artist in Residency Program Accepting Applicants

Applications are now being accepted for the 2018 Artist in Residency Program. Three artists will be invited to stay one week at either Icelandic State Park (July 8-15), Turtle River State Park (July 29-August 5) or Lewis & Clark State Park (August 12-19). Deadline to apply is May 4th, 2018.

Department of Transportation

Law Enforcement on Alert for Texting while Driving

In an effort to make North Dakota roads safer, law enforcement across the state will be on alert for those drivers texting while driving during the nationwide U Drive. U Text. U pay. enforcement campaign from April 1-30th. Last year nearly 400 citations were issued in North Dakota for distracted drivers during the state's two enforcement periods of April and September.

NDDOT Seeking Transportation Innovation Ideas

The North Dakota Department of Transportation is currently seeking submissions for the Transportation Innovation Program (TRIP). Trip seeks to identify and implement innovative solutions for transportation related projects. The deadline to submit an idea is March 26, 2018.
