Not a registrant, enlisted prior. Born, Tower City, N. Dak., May 3, 1896, of American-Norwegian parents. Occupation - clerk. Enlisted in the Marines Corps at Fargo on May 9, 1917/ Sent to Mare Island, Calif. Served in 79th Company, Quantico, Va., to Jan., 1918. Arrived in France, Feb. 8, 1918, and served there to death. Grades: Corporal, Sept. 12, 1917; Sergeant, Nov. 30, 1917. wounded, June 2, 1918. Engagements: Toulon Sector; Aisne Defensive; Chateau-Thierry Sector.
