Registered Divide county. Born, Bremnes, Norway, Feb. 14, 1894. Naturalized citizen. Occupation - farmer. Inducted at Crosby on March 29, 1918. Sent to Camp Dodge, Iowa. Served in Company D, 1st Battalion, 163rd Depot Brigade, to April 28, 1918; Company F, 138th Infantry, to death. Overseas from May 3, 1918, to death. Engagements: Offensive: Meuse-Argonne. Defensive Sectors: Gerardmer (Alsace); Grange-le-Comte (Lorraine).
