Leading Students to Financial Success – a web based opportunity
Financial education is essential for success, yet today’s youth are challenged with the basic understanding of personal finance. It is essential to empower North Dakota students with the skills and confidence they need to achieve financial success. State Treasurer Kelly Schmidt is excited to bring a new and innovative, web-based financial education program to high school students across North Dakota. Through a partnership with education technology leader EverFi, the Office of State Treasurer is partnering with local businesses and financial institutions to bring this opportunity to every North Dakota student at no cost to our local schools or our North Dakota taxpayers.
EverFi’s financial literacy courses introduce financial concepts to students at an early age, and in a classroom setting where they learn best. These interactive, online programs were specifically designed to introduce financial literacy skills using tools millennials love – digital learning and gaming – they bring complex financial concepts to life for today’s digital natives.
The platform features the latest in new media technologies, including video, animations, 3-D gaming, avatars, and social networking. Content is aligned with Jump$tart and North Dakota education standards which can be leveraged as a stand-alone resource, or work alongside existing curriculum. Diagnostic surveys, along with pre and post assessments provide insight into what the student has gained, along with attitude and behavior change.
EverFi is the leading education technology company that teaches, assesses and certifies learners in the critical skills they need to be successful in life. With backing from some of technology’s most successful innovative leaders including Amazon founder and CEO Jeff Bezos, Google Chairman Eric Schmidt, and Twitter founder Evan Williams, EverFi is powering a national network that has impacted over 12 million learners.
