Resident Producer

Senate Bill No. 2304 requires all individuals applying for a resident producer license in North Dakota to complete a criminal history record check. This requirement does not apply to individuals renewing their license or individuals who apply for a license within 12 months after their license was cancelled or expired, unless the license was suspended or revoked. This criminal background check includes fingerprinting. Fingerprints are collected at the test site following passage of the licensing exam. Applicants are responsible for a $41.25 fingerprinting fee and a $28 vendor processing fee.

Effective Sept. 1, 2019, PSI will no longer be the exam vendor for the North Dakota Insurance Producers License Examinations. In May of 2019, the North Dakota Insurance Department issued a request for proposal for the administration of exam and fingerprinting services. Prometric was awarded the contract.
