The ability to communicate effectively is an important skill for everyone. How well we communicate in daily business and emergency response impacts outcomes for all emergency managers, first responders, healthcare providers, and others. This course will focus on oral communications and written communications and will address how emergency communications are similar and different from daily communications.

Brenda Vossler, Training and Exercise Officer, NDDES will be the instructor for this course.

Registration will be from 7:30 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. and class will begin at 8:00 a.m. and conclude at 5:00 p.m. March 4, 2014.

The class will be held at the Comfort Inn, 1030 East Interstate Avenue in Bismarck. Rooms have been reserved at the state rate. Call the Comfort Inn at (701) 223-1911 and ask for the Effective Communications (DES) room block. Reservations must be made by February 16, 2014, to receive the state rate on this block of rooms.

NDDES will reimburse participants for meals and lodging according to state rates and policy. Participants must travel a distance greater than 50 miles to be eligible for reimbursement.
