Registered Grand Forks county. Born, Cavalier, N. Dak., May 22, 1895, of Canadian parents. Occupation - clerk. Inducted at Grand Forks on April 29, 1918. Sent to Camp Dodge, Iowa. Served in 163rd Depot Brigade, to (date not given); Headquarters Company, 338th Field Artillery, to May 15, 1918; Company M, 357th Infantry, to death. Grade: Private 1st Class, Aug. 1, 1918. Overseas from June 20, 1918, to death. Engagements: Offensives: St. Mihiel; Meuse-Argonne. Defensive Sectors: Puvenelle and Villers-en-Haye (Lorraine).
