Biography:

Registered Divide county. Born, Grand Forks, N. Dak., May 7, 1892, of Canadian parents. Occupation - lawyer. Inducted at Crosby on Sept. 18, 1917. Sent to Camp Dodge, Iowa. Served in Battery B, 338th Field Artillery, to Jan. 12, 1918; 3rd Officers Training School, Camp Dodge, Iowa, to April 19, 1918; Battery B, 338th Field Artillery, to discharge. Grades: Corporal, Oct. 18, 1917; Sergeant, Dec. 11, 1917. Discharged on July 11, 1918, to accept commission. Commissioned 2nd Lieutenant, July 12, 1918. Assigned to Artillery School, Samur, France, to Sept. 9, 1918; Battery C, 107th Field Artillery, to death. Overseas from May 23, 1918, to death. Engagement: Offensive: Meuse-Argonne. Defensive Sector: Clermont (Lorraine).
