- Recovery Spending and Jobs (129 kb pdf): North Dakota state agencies have been awarded nearly $480 million through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). As of December 31, 2009, $175.5 million of these dollars have been spent. During the quarter ended December 31, 2009, 2,097.08 North Dakota jobs were funded in whole or in part with ARRA funds. Private sector (non-state agency) positions totaled 2,057.33, while 39.75 jobs were within state agencies. In many cases, particularly with state agencies, these were not new positions, rather they existed prior to ARRA. When the ARRA funding evaporates, the positions will revert to their original funding sources. If additional funding is not available, the positions will be eliminated.
