Criminal background checks effective Sept. 1, 2013
Effective Sept. 1, 2013, anyone applying to become a North Dakota resident insurance producer must undergo a criminal background check, which includes fingerprinting. Fingerprints are collected at the test site following passage of the licensing exam.
Senate Bill No. 2304 was passed during the 2013 Legislative Assembly requiring all individuals applying for a resident producer license to complete a criminal history record check. This requirement does not apply to individuals renewing their license or individuals who apply for a license within 12 months after their license was cancelled or expired, unless the license was suspended or revoked.
Applicants are responsible for a $40 fingerprinting fee and a $28 vendor processing fee. For more information, contact Producer Licensing Division Director Kelvin Zimmer at 701-328-2440 or email@example.com.
