MAGIC Symposium Call for Papers
Every two years, MAGIC puts on the Symposium. The Symposium is an excellent opportunity for learning more about using and applying geospatial technologies and for networking with people doing the same kind of work that you do. Please have a look at the brief summary of the 2012 Symposium to help get a feel for what goes on at a typical Symposium.
Just a bit about MAGIC. North Dakota is one of nine states in the mid-America region that are part of MAGIC. From the MAGIC web site, "The MidAmerica GIS Consortium, Ltd. is a nonprofit educational organization established to foster the applications of geographic information systems (GIS) and related spatial technologies in the mid-continent region...MAGIC has no 'official' membership. MAGIC does not collect dues or require members to maintain a membership. If you are interested in joining, then simply begin participating in one of our monthly planning meetings."
Please give some serious thought about attending the Symposium and submitting an abstract. It's a cost-effective ($325 for the Symposium, $75 for workshops) conference, and the BBQ is awesome.
