Record Usage of GIS Hub WMS
North Dakota's GIS Hub OGC-WMS (Open Geospatial Consortium Web Map Services) experienced record usage during the March 2009 flood-fighting efforts. On March 26, the Hub registered more than 624,500 hits to view its web map services for raster and vector data. Compare that to 2008 when there was an average 28,600 hits per month. As another comparison, the March 2009 usage of these web services was 28 percent of the 2008 total of all OGC and non-OGC GIS Hub web services.
