6th floor at JRCC is a 41 bed unit for males. There are 14 single cells, 3 double occupancy cells, and two 7 man dorms all used for general population inmates. There is also a 7 cell disciplinary detention unit. 6th floor currently houses medium and minimum custody inmates. Each inmate is assigned to a caseworker who will assist them with their parole plans, conduct 30 contacts to update their case plan and assist with release planning. 6th floor is also a transition unit for inmates leaving the Special Assistance Unit. 6th floor is at times also used as a unit for inmates from SAU to day guest to the unit to monitor their interactions with the general population. The disciplinary detention unit is used for inmates that have broken unit rules and may jeopardize the safety or security of the institution.
