Common Errors

There are some common errors that employers make when remitting income withholding payments. These errors may delay or prevent the distribution of child support that children and families need and deserve.

The North Dakota State Disbursement Unit (SDU) receives and distributes payments for approximately 50,000 child support cases. Around $8,000,000 is processed each month. Because of this volume and because these are run through a highly automated process, the SDU cannot manually verify and research each payment.
