Bismarck, ND - Rebecca Ault, emergency manager for Pembina County, today accepted the position of the Northeast Regional Emergency Response Coordinator. Ault will be responsible for establishing and coordinating a regional response plan for chemical/biological/radiological/nuclear/explosive (CBRNE) incidents in northeast North Dakota. Ault will work with first responders and community leaders in multiple counties to create a regional response plan that identifies regional equipment and the training and exercise needs required for an effective coordinated response.
Regional Response is a new collaborative approach through which emergency response resources for CBRNE events will be identified and collectively used throughout a particular region. Regional efforts to quantify and coordinate these resources will greatly enhance our ability to respond to CBRNE events.
Ultimately, this sort of partnership will:
Ensure a safer and more secure public.
Allow a more efficient utilization of resources for a CBRNE event.
Promote a sharing of ideas, approach, and resources.
Facilitate smaller jurisdictions access to resources located in larger jurisdictions.
Benefit larger communities during complex and catastrophic events when local resources are not adequate.
