Emergency managers will benefit by meeting NDDES program management staff, getting first-hand information on program requirements and state emergency operations, and networking with other county emergency managers.   It is highly recommended that new emergency managers complete this important training.  Experienced emergency managers will get a refresher and be updated on program requirements. This course <strong>will not </strong>include the <em>Fundamentals of Emergency Management Course </em>(IS-230.b) as in the past.  However, we strongly recommend that you complete the fundamentals course on line prior to this training event.<br />   <br />This 3-day course will be conducted on June 11, 12, and 13, 2013, from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. each day.  The course will be held at the NDDES building number 35 on the Fraine Barracks installation.<br />   <br />NDDES will reimburse course participants traveling greater than 50 miles for motel and meals at state rates and policy. This course is designed for emergency management personnel who are involved in developing an effective emergency planning system. This course offers training on <br /><br />•	How recent disasters have changed the way governments at all levels should plan.<br />•	How the Comprehensive Preparedness Guide (CPG) 101 helps State, local, and tribal governments determine and structure their planning requirements.<br />•	How CPG 201 helps the Whole Community look at Threat and Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment, which forms the foundation of all emergency planning<br />•	Relating emergency planning to National Incident Management System (NIMS) compliance and integration.<br />•	Associating planning principles and concepts to the overall planning process.<br />•	Identifying how the steps in the planning process can improve both deliberate and crisis action planning.<br />•	Implementing the planning process model for future planning efforts.<br />•	Determining which Emergency Operations Plan (EOP) format is best suited to their jurisdictions.<br /><br />An online pre-test will be a prerequisite for this training. Successful applicants will be provided instructions on how to complete this requirement upon acceptance.<br /><br />The course will be conducted Aug 13, 14, &amp; 15 in Bismarck at the Comfort Inn. The classes will be held from 8:00 to 5:00 each day. NDDES will reimburse qualified applicants for their lodging and meals at the authorized state rates. A block of rooms have been set aside for the course under the title of Emergency Planning. The target audience includes law enforcement, fire services, emergency managers, and others that may be involved in the search and rescue mission.<br /><br />The conference is sponsored by the ND Department of Emergency Services.  There is no registration fee and DES will reimburse participants that travel more than 50 miles for lodging and meal per diem.
