Registered Grand Forks county. Born, Elena, Iowa, June 9, 1886, of (nationality of parents not given). Occupation - laborer. Inducted at Grand Forks on March 30, 1918. Served in Company H, 2nd Battalion, 163rd Depot Brigade, to April 18, 1918; Company E, 2nd Battalion, 1st Replacement Regiment, Engineers, Washington Barracks, D. C., to May 16, 1918; 465th Engineers Pontoon Train, to death. Grade: Wagoner, Oct. 1, 1918. Overseas from Aug. 16, 1918, to death.
