Registered Bottineau county. Born, Morris, Minn., April 10, 1896, of German parents. Occupation - farmer. Inducted at Mohall on March 29, 1918. Sent to Camp Dodge, Iowa. Served in Company C, 1st Battalion, 163rd Depot Brigade, to April 22, 1918; Company D, 140th Infantry, to death. Overseas from May 27, 1918, to death. Engagements: Vosges; Argonne.
