Not a registrant, enlisted prior. Born, Luverne, Minn., June 3, 1898. Enlisted in the Marine Corps at Lidgerwood on May 12, 1917. Sent to Mare Island, Calif. Served in 78th Company, Quantico, Va., from July 14, 1917, to Sept. 12, 1917; 75th Company, from Sept. 12, 1917, to Oct., 1917. Arrived in France, Oct. 6, 1917. Served in Replacement Battalion, to July 29, 1918; 78th Company, from July 29, 1918, to Aug. 20, 1918; Service of Supply Hospital, from Aug. 20, 1918, to death. Engagements: Toulon Sector; Aisne Defensive; Chateau-Thierry Sector; Meuse-Argonne; Champagne Sector. Gassed in action on June 14, 1918, and wounded, Oct. 9, 1918. Awarded, Fourragere.
