Not a registrant, under age. Born, Fargo, N. Dak., July 30, 1900, of American parents. Occupation - clerk. Enlisted in Company B, 1st Infantry, North Dakota National Guard, at Fargo, on July 27, 1917. Served in Company B, 1st Infantry, North Dakota National Guard (Company B, 164th Infantry), to Jan. 9, 1918; Company D, 18th Infantry, to death. Grade: Private 1st Class, Dec. 10, 1917. Overseas from Dec. 15, 1917, to death. Engagements: Defensive: Montdidier-Noyon. Offensive: Aisne-Marne. Defensive Sectors: Ansauville (Lorraine); Cantigny (Picardy).
