Biography:

Registered Wells county. Born, Sykeston, N. Dak., May 12, 1896, of Canadian parents. Occupation - farmer. Enlisted in Company H, 2nd Infantry, North Dakota National Guard, at Harvey, on Aug. 14, 1917. Served in Company H, 2nd Infantry, North Dakota National Guard (Company C, 147th Machine Gun Battalion), to May 2, 1918; Company A, 1st Army Headquarters Regiment, to death; Overseas from Dec. 13, 1917, to death.
