Served in Company A, 2nd Infantry, North Dakota National Guard (Company D, 164th Infantry), to Jan. 9, 1918; Company I, 18th Infantry, to death. Overseas from Dec. 14, 1917, to death. Engagements: Defensive: Montdidier-Noyon. Offensive: Aisne-Marne. Defensive Sectors: Ansauville (Lorraine); Cantigny (Picardy).
