Not a registrant. Born, Midland, Mich., April 1, 1895, of American parents. Occupation - farmer. Enlisted in Troop I, 1st Cavalry, South Dakota National Guard, at Brittin, S. Dak., on Aug. 22, 1917. Served in Troop I, 1st Cavalry, South Dakota National Guard, to (date not given); 13th Training Company, 159th Depot Brigade, to Oct. 22, 1917; Company I, 136th Infantry, to June 15, 1918; 1st Depot Division, Camp Cody July Replacement Draft, to Aug. 16, 1918; Battery D, 119th Field Artillery, to death. Grade: Private 1st Class, May 1, 1918. Overseas from June 28, 1918, to death. Engagements: Offensives: Oise-Aisne; Meuse-Argonne.
